A bigger splash in your face!

I was inspired by a scene in "A Bigger Splash" by Luca Guadagnino where Dakota Johnson was being a tease to Matthias Schoenaerts. She looked so coy and beautiful--I just had to paint her.

I decided to test out my new black paper drawing book with my beloved gouache set. I came in without any plan whatsoever, no goals as to what the drawing should turn out to be--as it should be when it comes to making art obviously, but I just have history with having too high of an expectation. Et voila! I surprised myself after seeing the results. I didn't think I had it in me to produce this type of drawings. I've never painted like this as well so that's why I was pretty impressed with myself.

Of course, this isn't finished yet and I should really do that! Can't wait to see the end result.
